Get paid to write articles and help your clients get more bang for their buck.
Get paid to write articles? Easy enough. There’s no better way for your clients to build an online presence and establish themselves as an expert in their field than by publishing a constant stream of informative articles. Since people do business with those they know, like, and trust, prospective customers go looking online for information before they buy. Ideally, your articles will give them that information and leave them eager to do business with your client, the expert.
Article writing is just one way online businesses do content marketing. There’s also press releases, videos, ebooks, white papers, videos, and a host of word-related projects you can create for your clients to help them gain online territory. While you could crank out a hundred articles for your client, it may be a smarter plan to put each article to use in multiple formats to get even more mileage.
For example, a series of articles could become an ebook. An article could become a video. An ebook could become a home study course. You get the idea.
One of the most overlooked and misunderstood multipurposing strategies is using articles as blog posts. “Duplicate content” is the first objection you’ll hear from clients who’ve learned enough about online marketing to be aware that there are things Google likes and things that’ll get them in trouble.
So, let’s knock that one away before I reveal a turbo-charged tool you can use to automate this process.
Duplicate content means the same content appearing more than one place online. It’s not inherently evil. You’ve got to dig a little deeper to understand when this will get you in trouble with the search engines.
Here’s a simple explanation:
- If you copy and paste someone else’s content, that’s bad.
- If you copy and paste your own content, that can be okay. However, the first place it was published will get the most benefit search engine-wise.
There’s more to content marketing than just trying to win search engine love, though. Saying Google’s rules for how it doles out love and traffic are capricious and arbitrary may be an understatement. In general, if you publish good content, and a lot of it, Google will reward you with traffic. That’s not a hard and fast rule, though.
That’s where another major benefit of publishing articles comes into play. Remember what makes people eager to patronize certain businesses? They feel a connection – they know, like, and trust that business. There’s no better way to help that process along than by publishing articles – a lot of them.
So, here’s an excellent strategy that helps with that overriding goal:
Write articles.
Publish to EzineArticles.com.
Publish the same articles on your client’s blog.
Buck, meet more bang.
Here’s the automation part I promised. EzineArticles.com has a plug-in you can install on your client’s WordPress blog for free. You write the article on the blog, conforming to Ezine’s editorial guidelines. You can validate your article’s acceptability with the click of a button, then submit it – right from the WordPress screen.
Two for one special on your efforts.
Without the plugin, you’d need to submit your article to EzineArticles first through their website. If you publish it first to your client’s blog, it won’t be approved. Once it’s approved on EzineArticles, then you’d be able to publish it to the blog. That entails wait time, remembering to check for approval, and then copy and pasting to get the whole loop closed.
Get Paid to Write Articles Rule #32: Automate anything you can. This handy little plugin makes it easy. Knowing about it and how to use it, makes you more than a word-cranker-outer. It makes you more valuable to your clients.
